Creator Terms
Effective date: November 10, 2026
These terms apply when you apply to, or take part in, the Calywire creator network. Calywire is a United States marketing agency that connects brands with creators. By submitting an application you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
Who can join
You must be 18 or older, legally able to enter into a contract, and the owner of the social accounts you list. The information you give us has to be accurate. If it turns out not to be, we may remove you from the network.
Membership is not employment
Joining the creator network does not make you an employee, partner, agent or joint venturer of Calywire or of any brand we work with. You are an independent contractor. You decide when and how you work, you use your own equipment, and you are responsible for your own taxes. Nothing here entitles you to employee benefits, unemployment insurance, or workers’ compensation. Membership does not guarantee that you will be offered any campaign, and there is no minimum amount of work.
Campaigns are separate agreements
Every paid campaign is covered by its own written agreement between you and Calywire, or between you and the brand, signed before the work begins. That agreement sets the deliverables, the schedule, the fee, the payment timing, the exclusivity if any, and the usage rights. Where a campaign agreement and these terms disagree, the campaign agreement governs for that campaign. These terms do not obligate Calywire to pay you for anything outside a signed campaign agreement.
Content and usage rights
You keep ownership of the content you create unless a campaign agreement says otherwise. What a brand may do with your content, on which channels, and for how long, is set by that campaign agreement. Calywire does not acquire rights to your content simply because you are in the network. We do use your name, handle, profile photo and public metrics internally, and to introduce you to brands considering you for a campaign.
Content you deliver has to be yours to deliver. Do not use music, footage, images, or trademarks you do not have permission to use.
Connected accounts
The creator portal lets you connect your TikTok or Instagram account to your Calywire profile. Connecting is optional. When you connect, you authorize the platform to share with us the data described in the Privacy Policy: your public profile, your follower and content counts, and the list of your public posts. We use that data to keep your profile current and to show brands your real numbers when they pick creators. We never post, like, comment, message, or change anything on your account, and we never see your password.
You may only connect an account you own. You can disconnect at any time from the Social accounts page of the portal. When you disconnect, we delete the access tokens we held and, for TikTok, ask the platform to revoke our access (Instagram offers no such request, so remove Calywire in your Instagram settings if you want it gone there too). The numbers already on your profile stay until they are refreshed from public sources or until you delete your account. If the platform stops honoring our access, we mark the account as needing reconnection and read its public page instead, as we do for accounts that are not connected; we do not reconnect on our own.
Your use of TikTok and Instagram remains subject to their own terms. Calywire is not responsible for changes a platform makes to what it shares or to how connections work.
Disclosure
When you are paid, gifted product, or given anything else of value in exchange for a post, federal law requires you to disclose it. Follow the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides: make the disclosure clear, put it where people will actually see it before they engage with the post, and use plain wording such as “#ad” or “paid partnership with [brand]”. Use the platform’s own paid partnership tool when one exists, but do not rely on it alone. Say only what is true about a product, and only what you have actually experienced. A campaign agreement may add specific disclosure requirements, and if it does, follow those too. Calywire may ask you to correct or remove a post that is not properly disclosed.
How you conduct yourself
Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit while representing a brand we placed you with. Do not buy followers, engagement, or views. Do not misrepresent a campaign’s performance. Keep campaign briefs, unreleased products, and pricing confidential until the brand makes them public.
Payment
Fees, timing and method are set in the campaign agreement. Payment normally follows delivery and approval of the content. You are responsible for reporting your own income and paying your own taxes, and we may need tax documentation from you before we can pay you.
Termination
You can leave the network at any time by emailing privacy@calywire.com. Calywire may remove you from the network at any time, with or without cause, by notifying you at the email address on your profile. Removal does not cancel a campaign already under way: any signed campaign agreement continues on its own terms until it is completed or ends under its own provisions, and both sides still owe what that agreement requires. Payment for work already delivered and accepted survives termination, and so do the disclosure, confidentiality and content-rights obligations of any campaign agreement.
No warranty, and limits on liability
The network is provided as is. Calywire does not promise a particular volume of work, a particular level of campaign performance, or that any brand will select you. To the extent the law allows, Calywire is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you outside a signed campaign agreement is limited to the amounts we have paid you in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. If we do, we will post the new version here with a new effective date and email creators in the network when the change is significant. Continuing in the network after that means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
